Joining Instructions
While
in the College cadets are subject to certain rules and regulations. Few
of the important ones are highlighted in this section for your
information. As discipline is very important it is recommended that your
son be advised to strictly follow them during his stay at the College
to ensure fruitful and productive schooling.
Do's :
The under mentioned simple do's and don't must be observed:

punctual
for all school activities like classes, games,
parades etc.

Do be
smartly
and neatly dressed at all times for all school
activities
in the prescribed dress. |

Do
follow the
school routine as promulgated. |
D. |
Do
keep all
your personal possessions neat and tidy at all
times.

E. |
Do be
courteous
to your seniors and superiors at the College. |
F. |
Do
maintain
high standards of honesty and integrity. Using
unfair means
in examination and other acts involving moral
turpitude are
dealt with severely. |
G. |
Do
ensure
personal hygiene for good health as given below: -

Clipping

nails once a week. |

Daily
Baths. |

Regular
change and washing of undergarments and socks.

Dont's :

leave
the school premises without proper permission. |

involved in smoking, drinking alcohol and consuming
drugs,
or have any such items in your possession. |

Do not
keep
cash or jewellery. |

Do not
keep any
of the following expensive items: -

Watches

Do not
be in
possession of any personal weapons, i.e. guns, fire
arms,
ammunition, air gun, knives etc. |

wear
photo chromatic lenses if accustomed to wearing
corrective
vision spectacles. |

Do not
give
your son a quilt. It is not required. The College
makes
adequate provision for the cold here. |
Clothing and Equipment
The College provides items of
clothing to each cadet on payment. Bedding is provided to a cadet at the
government's expense. Each cadet is expected to wear scrupulously clean
dress and look smart in his appearance. For each of the activities and
parades, there is a prescribed dress to be worn by the cadets. A sum of
Rs. 2000/- (included in additional charges in FEE) Cadet's Private
expenditure is charged from each cadet per term for clothing. The
Section Master gives permission for buying/stitching of new clothes
provided that the demand is justified. All administrative bills of the
cadets are scrutinized by the Administrative Officer.
Self Reliance
In the College the cadets are
encouraged to be self-reliant and believe in the dignity of labour. It
would help your son to settle down, if he practices the following simple
activities before joining: -
A. Stitching of buttons and minor repairing of his clothes.
B. Polishing his shoes (leather and canvas).
C. Washing his under garments, socks and handkerchief.
D. Making his bed.
E. Keeping his clothes and personal effects neatly in his cupboard.
F. Keeping track of all his personal possessions.
G. Making a dhobi list and checking returns accurately.
H. Filling bank withdrawal form and maintaining his pocket money account.
I. Covering all textbooks and copies with laminated brown paper.
J. Labeling his possessions for identification.
K. Packing his clothes for travel.
L. Writing of letters.
Payment of Fees/Dues
All
fees, bills and other dues must be paid by the parents at least ten
days before the starting of the term, by bank draft favoring COMMANDANT
RIMC, DEHRADUN CANTT payable at the State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan
Branch, Dehradun. The cadet's name, college number and section must be
written on the reverse. Failure to pay fees on time entails withdrawal
of the cadet from the College.
College Facilities
Cadets are obliged to use the following, which are provided by the Government: -
A. They shall live in dormitories, which fosters a spirit of camaraderie and espirit de corps.
B.
They shall dine in the Cadets mess where all cadets dine together in a
common dining hall, where they are provided good, clean and wholesome
food in a healthy environment. Medical treatment is provided in the 15
Bedded Hospital as an out patient or admitted. There is a resident
medical officer in attendance. In serious cases they are referred the
Army Hospital, Dehradun Cantt for admission and follow up treatment in
which event parents shall be duly informed. Other than the children of
defence services officers, Cadets would be charged normal charges for
their stay in the Hospital. For special treatment like operations etc,
lump sum charges would be levied at the discretion of the Commandant.
Visit by parents
Parents
are welcome to visit their sons during the term only on holidays
provided they have obtained prior permission of the Commandant and have
given adequate notice. This is to ensure that the College routine is not
disrupted. On arrival parents are expected to meet the Section Master
during their visits. They are requested NOT to visit the dormitories as
it may affect other cadets psychologically.They may take their sons out
on an out pass with the permission of the Section Master. Normally not
more than two out passes are allowed per month. Once during the term a
parent is allowed to take their son for a night out pass, provided they
pick him up and drop him at school themselves.
Local Guardians
Parents
must nominate one local guardian for their son. The local guardians so
nominated may be well advised about all the College rules and
regulations as contained in the instructions above, particularly with
references to visits and grant of out passes.
